2 1/2 - 3 Years
The Growing Threes classroom is designed for older two year olds and early three year olds. In this daycare classroom we continue to follow a structured routine so that the students know what to expect each day. We will build on the skills that were taught in the Talented Toddlers classroom and continue to teach shapes, colors, numbers and name recognition through daily circle time and our thematic units. In this childcare classroom we review the Animal Action Songs curriculum and begin to introduce Frog Street Press curriculum. With Frog Street Press there is a song, story and character that correlates with each letter. The children receive their own take home books and songs to share with you so that you can be practicing letter recognition at home! Sensory exploration and imaginative play are built into the daily schedule to continue to enhance verbal and social skills amongst peers.Enrollment Schedule a Tour
Alphabet Action is used in our toddler classrooms to teach students the importance of understanding the names and sounds of letters. This skill is one of the most crucial building blocks for beginning literacy. Alphabet Action is a collection of phonics and action songs taught through music. It is a powerful and enjoyable tool to help gain knowledge about alphabet letters and understand what they are, what they sound like, and what they look like. Alphabet Action has a diverse and catchy musical phrase for each letter.
Students ages two years and older will have the opportunity to participate in each of the following exploratory classes once per week. These classes are included in your childcare tuition at no additional charge.
Research shows that exposing children to a foreign language has a positive impact on their communication and critical thinking skills, and it raises cultural awareness. Students will be introduced to the Spanish language through key concepts like colors, days of the week, months of the year, body parts and commonly used words. Spanish lessons are filled with exciting activities such as songs, puppets, books and games, to reinforce these concepts.
Students will be introduced to an early childhood music and movement program based on the belief that every child is musical. Research has proven that music nurtures a child’s cognitive, emotional, social, and language development. You will see your child grow and develop in all these areas at his or her own pace. Each daycare class is made up of singing and dancing activities, playing games, reading books, playing instruments, and more.
At Talented Tots Preschool, students will be introduced to gymnastics to help improve balance, gain muscle and strength, and learn fundamental skills. Running, jumping jacks, and core exercises begin each class, followed by gross and fine motor skills development, and skilled social activities to keep their little bodies moving. Activities include stretching, basic cartwheels, balancing activities, and back bends, with physical education resources. Warmup activities are followed by the balance beam, mini-trampoline, and gym mat exercises. Throughout all Talented Tots daycare activities, we work as a team to encourage each other, improve our skills, and accomplish our goals.
We are so excited to expand our music classes at Talented Tots to include the toddler classes. Toddler music classes will include singing, fingerplays, movement, dancing and instrument exploration. We will use fun songs to learn about animals, transportation, holidays, seasons, rhymes and much more. We will explore moving our fingers, hands and whole body because movement is key to learning. We will also nurture the toddler’s singing and speaking voice with an age-appropriate mix of songs and rhymes. Toddlers will explore instruments which are designed just for toddlers, like shakers and drums, as well as other non-musical props like balls, scarves, puppets and more. Be watching for lists of songs that we will be singing in class so you can sing along at home with their favorites.
